When Mohamed Bouazizi, a Tunisian street vendor, set fire to himself a year ago on 17 December 2010 his suicide marked the start of the Arabellion. Since then the Arab World has been in turmoil and in a state of upheaval. The current EU Spotlight takes stock of the «Arab Awakening» and shows the challenges with which Europe will be confronted in 2012.
